The outbreak of the coronavirus has consumed our lives within the last few weeks. Everyday life in our country is changing, at least for the short term, and it's important to remember to stay active so you don't go stir-crazy. Staying inside the house all day can cause anxiety and it's important to know what we should or shouldn’t do to stay active while protecting ourselves from the virus. This brings up the topic, can you go outside?
Yes! According to a CBC kids news YouTube video, if you know you don’t have the virus, its perfectly okay and actually good to go outside and play, as long as you’re practicing the recommended social distancing of 6 feet. Also, ensure that anyone who is sniffling or sneezing stays inside. The CDC states that kids who are spending time with others are better off being outside rather than inside as long as parents reinforce that these outdoor activities happen in smaller groups with no contact with one another. This is where sun protection products become important.
Whether you're out by the water or in the sun in general, it's imperative that you protect your skin at the same time, so consider wearing swim hats, rash guards, sunglasses, UV gloves, and sunscreen when outside during this pandemic. Fishing, hiking, walking, biking, kayaking, and exercising are perfect things to do while wearing swim tights and UV shirts, since they’re waterproof and sweat proof! That being said, during this pandemic, it's important to get your vitamin D while protecting your skin, and our products do just that.
Don’t let the coronavirus stop you from being outdoorsy and active! Practice social distancing, wear a mask, cough and sneeze into your elbow, wash your hands thoroughly before and after going outside, and wear Sun Protection products to protect your skin.
