*FIND YOUR CHILD'S HEIGHT AND WEIGHT ON THIS CHART AND THIS SHOULD CORRESPOND TO THE PROPER SIZE FOR YOUR CHILD--THE PROPER SIZE FOR A ONE PIECE SUIT IS GENERALLY ABOUT ONE TO TWO SIZES LARGER THAN THEIR CURRENT CLOTHING SIZE. (FOR SHIRTS, IT DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU WANT A SNUG FIT FOR SWIMMING OR A MORE LOOSE FIT. SHIRTS SHOULD NOT BE WORN TOO LOOSELY OR THEY WILL BE UNCOMFORTABLE IN THE WATER.) For example, most infants wear size 2, most 2 year olds need a size 4 and most 3 and 4 year olds need a size 6. For a 5 year old, try a size 8, and a 7 year old generally needs a size 10, etc. However, if a child is bigger than average then buy 2 sizes larger. Need a larger size? BABIES: Most infants 0-6 months of age can wear the size 0. Most infants over 6 months of age can wear the size 2 C-Suit or size 2 shirt & shorts. (THE SIZE 0 AND SIZE 2 C-SUITS HAVE SNAPS AT THE CROTCH.) Even if it is a little large, it will just provide more coverage for your baby's tender skin! The men's chest measurement should be taken around at the armhole. These shirts do not run small. MEN PLEASE NOTE: IF THE CHEST MEASUREMENT INDICATES A SIZE MUCH LARGER THAN YOU NORMALLY WEAR, IGNORE THAT AND CHOOSE THE SIZE SHIRT YOU WOULD ORDINARILY WEAR. For example, if you normally wear a large t-shirt, than try a large c-shirt. FOR WOMEN, the best indicator is your blouse size. If you wear a size 10 blouse, then choose a medium. For both men and women, if you want to use these shirts for vigorous swimming, then choose a shirt one to two sizes smaller then the chart recommends.
